India Trip 2005

These two little girls pulled me right out to play after our service at the Dheli orphanage. Posted by Picasa

One of the orphan boys wanted to take a picture, the kids never smile....they either make a funny face, or just stare! They are so sweet! Posted by Picasa

The girls at the Dheli orphanage squeezed in for a picture! Posted by Picasa

The traffic was crazy in India, and if you are wondering what the yellow and green car is, those are taxi's! I think most Americans would have a hard time fitting in those!
These were our bus drivers. The one in the tunic was the father, and the one on my left in the picture is his son, whom I might add was very fond of me.....a little weird! They both drove our buses, and the other two men in the picture sat along side to help them see in tough areas.....it gets pretty crazy traveling there. Who would of thought!? The Wellness Store right above McDonalds!

These are pictures of my team members while meeting with the founders of Emmanuel ministries and Hopegivers (Samuel Thomason and Father--third picture down).

The kids love to decorate during Christmas for a annual competition they have between the rooms. They are able to go to the market and buy a few things with the money that we sponsor them with, and then they save so much of the money to give toward the lepor colony that Emmanuel ministries is building.
They also love to dance, every girls room I went into they wanted me to teach them "American Dance" Melody Aunty! They are so full of life and happiness!

Some of my girls dressed me up in this wrap to one of the Sauree's, which is a formal dress for the women to wear. I felt like they were using me as a Barbie come to life, because later on they did my hair, nails, and put lipstick on me too!

These pictures were taken during the Christmas Eve and Day celebrations. They built a huge tent and had a stage where the children performed dance, dramas, and song. The second picture is of my goofy little boy Gondu, and the third is of a little girl named Angel! She climbed right up in my lap during the service.....she really was a little angel!

These were the few boys that stuck to me, like peanut butter to jelly, from the first day. They love to make goofy faces for the camera! From left to right: Jeevan, Nannu, Gondu, and Thaumughsaun. Most of them have unusual names with weird spellings! I adored these four!

This was the church where we would meet for service almost every night. The boys out number the girls, so they sit on the right and in the balcony area, and the girls sit to the left. My team and I lead them in some songs one of the nights that we were there, they made sure that I had the microphone in hand.....God uses you no matter where you are!

My little boy Jeevan, who is 11, gave me flowers the second to last night of our trip. He is the child that I will be sponsoring through Hopegivers!

My boys and my girls! These were my 2 rooms that I fell in love with, and "tucked in" every night. These children sleep 24 to about 35 to a room. They are precious in His sight!

Even when I am thousands of miles away, I am still hard at work at what I do best! Hair! The girls thought it was so awesome that I was cutting their hair for them. Especially because of how much $40 American dollars is to them......they could live off of that for months!

The girls did some beautiful henna tatooing on my hands and arm.....it was definitely part of the "Indian Experience"!

This was taken the last night at the orphanage in Kota. This was my Sauree that I purchased while there. Posted by Picasa
